Conversion tool, professional services, and financial incentives make it easy for MediaCore customers to preserve their existing video assets

SEATTLE, Jan. 26, 2016 – Panopto, a leading video platform provider for universities and businesses, today announced a migration program for MediaCore customers. In light of the Workday acquisition of MediaCore, and MediaCore support ending August 31, 2016, the migration program enables MediaCore customers to preserve and continue using their existing video assets. Panopto’s migration program includes a video content conversion tool, professional services, and financial incentives.

Content Conversion Tool
For academic institutions and businesses with large archives of MediaCore videos, preserving the important content and intellectual property in those recordings is a top priority. To address this need, Panopto has developed a migration tool that automates the conversion of MediaCore videos and automatically uploads the converted content to a new Panopto video library.

The conversion process maintains the fidelity of the original video, along with video metadata and closed captions. Once converted, recordings are also indexed for search using Panopto’s unique Smart Search technology.

Professional Migration Services
As part of today’s announcement, Panopto is launching professional services to assist MediaCore customers with their transition to Panopto. The services include conversion of existing MediaCore files, integrity validation of the converted files, and provisioning of existing MediaCore users within Panopto. The professional services are affordably priced, and are based on a flat fee plus the amount of content being converted.

Financial Incentives
Panopto is also offering a limited-time promotion to MediaCore customers. For universities and businesses who commit to migration before March 31, 2016, Panopto will waive the $3,000 professional services flat fee. In addition, customers transitioning to Panopto’s cloud-hosted video platform will receive 1,000 hours of MediaCore video conversion at no cost.
