Panopto Recognized As A Leader And Innovator In Online Video
In 2020, online video technologies surged into the global spotlight along with a pandemic that required schools to move education online and many professionals to work from home.
With video streaming technologies now essential to the daily operations of nearly every organization, all of us at Panopto are incredibly honored to make it onto the 2020 Streaming Media 50.
For this year’s list, Streaming Media Magazine editors ranked every vendor in the online video market to identify the 50 “most important, most innovative, and most interesting companies.” Alongside other Streaming Media 50 veterans on this year’s list, including AWS, Apple, Google, and Microsoft, Panopto was recognized for the sixth consecutive year:
“Panopto is simply one of the easiest-to-use, most versatile video platforms for enterprise and education. ’Nuff said.” — Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen, Editor, Streaming Media Magazine
New to the Streaming Media 50 this year, Zoom was also acknowledged for its ubiquity. “Chances are, you had a Zoom video conference today. While continued questions over security and a lack of clarity on the company’s long-term strategy give us pause, 2020 is undoubtedly the year of Zoom,” explained Schumacher-Rasmussen.
It’s worth noting, Panopto’s Zoom integration has helped organizations overcome some of those security concerns while making it simple to find and share Zoom meeting recordings. And with our new Slack integration, it’s also easy to share Zoom recordings securely in Slack.
Of course, we are nowhere near done creating technologies that support the rapidly changing ways professionals, teachers, and students want to use video. Nonetheless, we’re grateful to be recognized in the Streaming Media 50 in a year when online video has become critical to business continuity and distance learning.
Curious what the future of video looks like? We hope you’ll give Panopto a try.
