Panopto and Cattura Video Team Up on Lecture Capture and Video Content Management
Integration between CaptureCast Pro recorders and Panopto provides universities and businesses with an automated solution for multi-source capture and streaming.
Seattle/San Antonio, May 9, 2017 — Panopto and Cattura Video today announced a strategic partnership aimed at providing universities and businesses with an integrated solution for recording, managing, and streaming university lectures and business presentations. The partnership enables events captured with Cattura’s CaptureCast Pro recorders to be automatically published into Panopto’s video content management system. Once in Panopto, the recordings are encoded for playback on any device and indexed for inside-video search.
Cattura Video’s support for simultaneously recording up to six HD video sources works in concert with Panopto’s unique multi-source video player, enabling organizations to capture multi-camera presentations and complex simulations with the click of a button. To simplify the recording of recurring lectures and meetings, Cattura’s video capture templates and scheduling system integrate with Panopto’s Remote Recorder service, providing organizations with a web-based solution for controlling their video capture infrastructure.
As part of the partnership, Cattura Video’s CaptureCast Pro recorders now support the Universal Capture Specification (UCS), a simple, XML-based format for describing video files and collections so that they can be centrally managed and streamed to any device.
“We created the Universal Capture Spec to provide a simple, open format for integrating video capture solutions and video content management systems,” said Eric Burns, co-founder and CEO of Panopto. “With its unique support for multi-source video, timeline events, and metadata, the UCS is a perfect match for Cattura’s CaptureCast series. Our joint customers stand to benefit from a seamless integration that provides the highest-fidelity playback of multi-source lectures and presentations.”
“The CaptureCast Pro recorders are built to reliably record any AV configuration, from simple talking head videos to complex multi-camera events,” said Justin McCutcheon, CEO of Cattura. “Due to this key partnership, our joint customers will be equipped with a video management and playback solution that boasts flexible recording options and that’s built to handle the demands of multi-source, HD video streaming.”
