Panopto Expands Microsoft 365 Integration to Include Microsoft 365 Copilot, Enhancing AI-Driven Video Collaboration

PITTSBURGH, PA, February 25, 2025 – Today, Panopto, a global leader in AI-powered knowledge creation and management through video, announced the release of its latest product version, featuring an expanded Microsoft 365 integration that now includes support for Microsoft 365 Copilot. This new functionality allows users to perform natural language searches, reference, and play Panopto videos seamlessly within Microsoft 365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, OneNote, Word, and PowerPoint.
By integrating with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Panopto videos and their metadata become an enriched data source within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This enhancement empowers users to access and utilize their video content more intuitively, streamlining workflows and boosting productivity across industries.
Microsoft recently reported nearly 70% of Fortune 500 companies have adopted Copilot, citing faster adoption than previous Microsoft 365 suites.
“AI is reshaping the way organizations operate, and Panopto is committed to staying at the forefront of innovation,” said Jason Beem, CEO of Panopto. “Expanding Panopto’s Microsoft 365 integration to include Microsoft 365 Copilot allows our customers to access business-critical video content directly within their favorite business apps.”
The integration features intuitive ease of use and seamless accessibility, enabling effortless, in-the-flow-of-work engagement within Microsoft 365. Microsoft 365 Copilot users can open their organization’s entire video library or perform keyword searches to find specific content—without ever leaving the Microsoft 365 environment.
“The EdTech ecosystem is rapidly embracing AI-enhanced services,” said Rob Curtin, Director, Data & AI for Microsoft US Education. “This release strengthens Panopto’s leadership in video content management, aligning with Microsoft’s mission to empower people and organizations to achieve more.”
Organizations and institutions of higher education that use both Panopto and Microsoft 365 can now leverage the integration to:
- Enhance content discovery: Access every spoken and written word in the organization’s Panopto video library via Copilot for robust access to organizational knowledge.
- Streamline collaboration: Play Panopto videos directly in Teams while collaborating on projects.
- Enrich content creation: Reference and embed Panopto videos while drafting emails in Outlook, presentations in PowerPoint, and documents in Word.
- Simplify note-taking: Access relevant Panopto videos while summarizing meetings or lectures in OneNote.
The Panopto plugin is now available in the Microsoft Teams Store. Existing Panopto customers can access the Microsoft 365 integration as part of their subscription at no additional cost. To learn more, visit panopto.com.
